For this project, I used a photogrammetry approach to create a realistic model of an excavator. Here’s a look at my process:
Photo Capture: I took 332 photos using my Canon T6i camera with a 58mm lens. All photos were captured in 4K to ensure maximum detail. The photos were processed with Reality Capture to generate an accurate 3D model.
Textures were corrected and polished in Substance Painter for a more realistic look. The model was imported into Maya, and the final rendering was done with the Arnold renderer.
The final model has approximately 50,000 polygons.
